Description
Another dance theatre piece for the Gauthier Dance JUNIORS – and once more a scenario that comes with a humorous alienation effect. Barker aims at an audience of all generations – with a fairytale-like narrative style, magic tricks, puppets and plenty of interaction with the audience. Barker is set in the 1920s and tells a story of disobedience: six servants rebel against their masters – who are always invisible to the audience. Mind you, Barak Marshall is not staging a gloomy social drama, but a humorously exaggerated, hopeful journey to freedom, accompanied by the lively music of the Balkans.
The final rehearsals are taking place before the premiere - not only in the studio of Gauthier Dance, but also in the Theaterhaus gym. Everybody is invited to dive into the choreographer's rehearsal process with the artists.
